Dear Tourism Industry Operators,
For Easter last year, The Vanuatu Tourism office (VTO) was pleased to see the communities around Vanuatu step up to the challenge of supporting our local businesses who continue to show resilience despite the difficult times to grow our domestic tourism program because international borders were closed.
This year’s 2022 Easter is just a bit different, in the midst of our first wave of COVID-19 in Efate and Santo, we had to prepare for border reopening.
Easter
Last week Thursday, VTO visited the food preparation team packaging food for the Covid-19 patients at the Korman Isolation Center.
A special care package was delivered by the team, to be distributed to the patients who were isolating during the Easter period. Inside the care package, were complimentary recovery messages and bars of Vanuatu made chocolate including a chance to win one of the 5 vouchers hidden inside the delivered chocolate bars. The lucky winners will each receive a Vt10,000 voucher to spend at any tourism business through the coordination of our Travel Centres. In such times, It is important for us at the VTO to show our gratitude and compassion to these families who are stepping forward to get tested, get isolated and to get vaccinated.
VTO is taking the stand to fight against the stigma that surrounds COVID-19 to increase awareness from the individual level all the way up to the organizational level in supporting vaccination roll out and getting tested to show responsibility that together we are keeping our families, communities and businesses safe for recovery. We can all create wonderful easter moments by protecting our front-line staff workers and by working with our Ministry of Health Officials to keep everyone safe and positive during the Easter period.
#WindowBlongMi
The #WindowBlongMi campaign continues to roll out until the end of the month and is receiving a lot of very positive feedback and increasing awareness about sharing your window moments whilst staying safe and or working from home during the lock down period.
Thanks to all operators that have shared the view from their windows. You can still download the logo HERE
#LoPlesia TikTok Campaign
VTO is delighted to announce that we will be launching shortly a special social campaign called #LoPlesIa as part of the domestic program on our domestic TikTok account #SapotemLokolTurism.
The goal of this campaign is to use the ‘sense and pride of belonging” of the domestic market as the main promotional leverage using the fastest developing social media platform since 2020 –– TikTok. We want operators and consumers to take advantage of this campaign to create content across the whole destination-Vanuatu.
In order to do so, we are inviting you all for a live coaching session on our Keeping Vanuatu Beautiful Facebook group on Thursday 28th April at 2PM. The agenda for this live session (30 minutes) will be sent later this week.
If you have specific questions about Tiktok, please feel to send in advance to Ms. Melissa Bule,
