The Vanuatu Tourism Office (VTO) has kick started 2022 with many upcoming activities & events, in the second consecutive year of implementing the Vanuatu Domestic Tourism Marketing Strategy 2021 - 2023.
The #SapotemLokolTurisim (SLT) campaign launched in May 2020, was built based on the strong consumer sentiment that exists within the Vanuatu consumers towards supporting our local tourism businesses, service providers and the act of travelling itself, around the country.
After a year of trialling the SLT campaign, VTO launched the Domestic Tourism Marketing Strategy 2021 - 2023 in June 2021 to provide a guided approach to the already successful campaign.
The Vanuatu Tourism Office team will keep building on the success of this campaign and strategy objectives with the following main activities planned for 2022:
Turisim Marketing Storian (TMS)
Objective: Create valuable industry support mechanisms to assist with marketing activities for domestic market and prepare for the return of the international visitors through the facilitation of the Turisim Marketing Storian.
There will be 4 types of Operators’ TMS in 2022:
A) What’s New:
Site visits led by the Travel & Information Centers (TIC).
B) Coffee Storian:
Organize B2B meetings with operators to discuss subjects/activities led by our Business Intelligence program.
C) Tourism Awareness:
Organize meetings with new operators that weren't included in the 2020-2021 TMS program to discuss the VTO marketing coaching services, the domestic and international campaigns. This awareness will be led by the VTO Domestic Marketing team.
D) Specific Visit(s):
Specific site visit(s) upon request from the Marketing or Communication team.
All questions regarding the TMS activity can be channeled through Ms. Angelina Songi, on email:
Mi Tumoro Vanuatu (MTV)
Objective: Provide a platform for tourism businesses to promote and sell bookings directly to the domestic consumers and help facilitate their ease of travel within Vanuatu.
Based on the success of the 2021 tradeshows and upon the feedback received from the industry, we will roll-out two editions of the MTV this year.
The first one is planned for:
Port Vila: 18 -19 March 2022
Luganville: 31 March - 01 April 2022
This will allow our domestic travelers to plan and book adventures for their long weekends from Easter right through to the Independence celebration week in July, and so on.
Tourism businesses registration will close on 28th February, 2022. Email MTV event coordinator Ms. Melissa Bule on email:

These renewed partnerships will help us to support our tourism industry during these challenging times.
