Futuna island has gorgeous views looking out from the top of the plateau east towards neighbouring Tafea islands.
There are no guesthouses or island bungalows.
The villagers are very crafty and create beautiful handmade gifts such as local woven baskets and mats, hats, men's hunting tools in the Futuna distinctive poly-melanesian art and traditions.
The men can also sculpt authentic stone axes, the ladies weave shell necklaces and bangles, traditional wooden carvings from the elderlies walking sticks to a warriors club used back in ancient times to prove that such knowledge remains strong and is passed down from many generations.
