Day One: Efate – Port Vila


Arrive in Port Vila

Get yourself settled into your hotel, take a dip in the pool, the lagoon, the harbour or the beach before heading out for dinner.

Vanuatu offers a variety of culinary experiences for all food lovers from French cuisine to modern Asian-fusion and delectable local fresh seafood and there are a variety of restaurants scattered around town where you can have dinner on your first night. Be sure to try some a local steak when visiting, Santo beef is renowned for being some the best in the World.

Day Two: Efate – Port Vila


Morning

Experience the fascinating ni-Vanuatu culture with a visit to a traditional village in the heart of the islands’ forests. Learn some of the past practices and wonders of an ancient era in Vanuatu culture. The most well known is Ekasup Cultural Village. You could, alternatively, spend the day with Lelepa Island Tours exploring nearby Lelepa Island in the Havannah Harbour. This day trip allows you to spend time on the beach, snorkel and also spends some time in a local village. The locals offer the friendliest welcome, making for a perfect "world away experience" on your long weekend.

Afternoon

If you are staying on the mainland of Efate you could spend the afternoon exploring Port Vila with offroad open buggies! Race around Port Vila meeting locals and getting the inside view of a real village. Enjoy a short break on a sandy beach just long enough to test the temperature of the ocean and shake hands with dozens of children welcoming you and eager to share their slice of heaven with you.

 

Day Three: Efate – Port Vila

Morning

Long weekends don't last forever. Get up early and head down to Port Vila Markets to sample some of the in-season fruit, keep an eye out for the local raspberries. Next door is the Haos Blong Handicraft where you can pick up local handicrafts. The marketplace is dedicated to selling and promoting authentic handicrafts that are made in Vanuatu.

Your next stop should be a visit to Mele Cascades to swim in the natural pools, surrounded by the jungle with the roar of the waterfall in the background.

Evening

Spoil yourself with a half an hour massage before dining under the stars, then after if your body is revitalised and your feet feel like dancing try out the local night spots in Port Vila for a night of fun and laughter, and be sure to see if there are any live fire dancing shows on in and around town.
