Port Vila, Vanuatu, Thursday 29 August: Vanuatu’s premier tourism trade show, Tok Tok 2019, kicked off in Port Vila today. Each year, the event brings together tourism operators and international travel providers for business-to-business meetings with the aim of growing tourism visitation to Vanuatu.

Each year, Tok Tok provides an important networking and business development platform for Vanuatu’s tourism industry. All participants come together with the shared goal of growing tourism to Vanuatu. Over the meeting day, there are 1,020 appointments scheduled. Topics of discussion at these meetings include product updates, ways to grow business both in terms of numbers and yield, promotion and marketing activities, and development of new packages.

This year we are fortunate to have a number of first-time attendees at Tok Tok 2019, broadening the opportunities for our industry partners with international contacts and networks. This also increases Vanuatu’s exposure across a range of new markets.

We are also pleased to see 15 new Vanuatu operators at Tok Tok this year promoting their products and experiences. It will be a great platform for them to grow their business.

We are also excited this year to introduce the new Vanuatu brand ‘Answer the Call of Vanuatu’ to our international guests. We really want them to understand at a deeper level how their clients will experience Vanuatu when they visit, so this year we are offering them opportunity to experience the kind of Vanuatu Moments that tourists encounter on their holidays. We believe this will better equip our international guests to sell Vanuatu as a tourist destination.

The 2018 Tok Tok was the best event ever—and the Vanuatu Tourism Office together with the Tok Tok 2019 sponsors are looking forward to an even better more successful event this year.

The social media hashtag for the event is #TokTokVanuatu
