Sailaway Cruise's priority is to take people snorkelling & diving to quality reefs in the North Efate area & sail between stops when winds are favourable. Full day cruises on Golden Wing run 3 days a week to Hat Island, Survivor beach & Paul’s Rock. Liveaboard, overnight charters with SCUBA, can go for 5 days further afield.
Sailaway Cruises offers regular day trips on it’s 42 ft. trimaran Golden Wing & caters equally to snorkellers or Scuba divers keen to see the wonderful marine life at Hat Island & Paul’s Rock.
The boat is also available for liveaboard CHARTERS for up to 5 days exploring the offshore islands further North in the Nguna / Pele MPA. Visit remote beaches, villages etc. Scuba is available.
Full Day Cruise
The day begins with 8am bus pickups from Port Vila hotels, for a 40 min. scenic drive a quarter way around Efate island to our boat moored in Havannah Harbour . Morning tea is served en route to Hat Island. Once there, the incredible water clarity & colourful marine life wows snorkellers & divers of all ages & experience levels. Snorkelling gear is provided & float-boards are available for kids or weaker swimmers. A deck canopy provides shade.
After a healthy on-board lunch, we motor-sail across to the beautiful untouched Efate coastline, with jungle cascading down to sandy coves, where the Survivor TV camps were located..
After an hour ashore for beachcombing & a snorkel, we ‘re off again to Paul’s Rock seamount nearby, which is just teeming with fishlife & turtles. A custom taboo means this reef is like a Marine Reserve, where the fish are wary, but unafraid of man the predator. This makes for some amazing interactions between fish & snorkellers .. Even better for divers who see the bigger marine life close-up , plus drop-off walls & swim-throughs lined with soft-corals & gorgonia fans.
On the 1 hour return sail to base , passengers chat amiably over a hot coffee or cool drink. Return to hotels by about 5.30 pm.

Liveaboard Charters - Golden Wing
Golden Wing operates in the sheltered waters around the beautiful North Efate offshore islands, so evening cocktails in quiet anchorages get to become a reality on this stable boat. By day, we move from island to island checking out the most interesting sites above & below the water.
For SCUBA diving groups, a scuba compressor on board provides 2 – 3 dives /day to premier sites accessed by very few divers. We can dive the Corsair fighter plane wreck on a 3 to 5 day charter. Underwater photographers have camera wash-tubs & a 240 Volt inverter for battery charging by night.
The idea is to get a group of friends or families together to share the daily boat charter cost. 3 double beds & 2 singles provide comfortable accommodation but not luxurious. More like a camping holiday, with solar deck showers, lots of exercise & healthy food. Probably island kaikai in a village on one day.
