What’s big, blue, beautiful, and full of nice people?

Pacific pavilion under construction, Shangai World Expo site 2010.South-Pacific.travel press release:  The Pacific Pavilion at Shanghai Expo 2010, just like the Pacific itself. Construction of the enormous 8,300 square metre Pacific Pavilion building is approaching completion, well ahead of schedule, with the generous support of the Government of China. 70 million visitors are expected to visit the Expo between May 1 and October 31 2010, making it the largest event ever known to humanity. With the Pacific Pavilion exterior hardware approaching completion, attention now is turning towards finalizing the design and construction of the interior displays and arranging the software – the wonderful people of the Pacific itself. The Pacific Pavilion Commissioner General, Mr Peter Vincent of Papua New Guinea said, “given that the Pavilion is located in such a prime location downtown Shanghai and close to the China Pavilion, visitors to the Pacific Pavilion will be huge. We look forward to joining together with our neighboring islands in welcoming the crowds in Shanghai next year under one umbrella.

Further development of the emerging Chinese tourism market is another opportunity to mitigate the effects of the Global Financial Crisis”. For more information contact Ester Morrel on emorrel@south-pacific.travel.
