Media release 19th May, 2010: Last night at the Tim Cahill Gala dinner for the Cancer Council, the Vanuatu Tourism Office and The Havannah Resort, Port Vila spent the night with Australia’s leading sporting and artistic talent and donated a hotly contested live auction item, raising more than $4000 for the Cancer Council. Hosted by Tim Cahill to raise funds for The Tim Cahill Cancer Fund for Children the evening included performances from the winner of So You Think You Can Dance Australia 2010, Robbie Kmetoni, as well as singers Angel Tupai and Mahalia Barnes. The evening was MCed by Alan Jones AO with Tim Cahill and Ian Thorp as special guests.
The Vanuatu Tourism Office, Air Vanuatu and The Havannah Resort donated five relaxing nights in a Beachfront Villa and economy airfares for two from Sydney to Port Vila flying Air Vanuatu. The Havannah is one of Vanuatu’s newest boutique upscale resorts located on the edge of Vanuatu’s first World Heritage site, on a quiet, white sandy beach, 35 minutes drive from Port Vila and a short three and a half hour flight from Sydney.
