Lotus Day Spa, health and beaty treatments.Lotus Day Spa & Wan Smol Bag press release: Female members of the Wan Smolbag Theatre Youth Center have been given an introduction to Beauty Therapy Treatments. Thanks to owner and manager of Lotus Day Spa, located in Port Vila, Margie Fitzpatrick and professional beauty therapist, Ashiana Beerbul, so far 7 youth from Wan Smolbag were treated and given lessons of manicures and pedicures. There are further workshops planned for the young women and the chance for more youth to visit Lotus Day Spa to learn the purpose and hygiene reasons for manicures and pedicures and also learn about the benefits of treatments Health and Beauty Spas offer. Another important benefit from the visit to Lotus Day Spa, is the opportunity for the youth to learn about the many employment opportunities within the Beauty Therapy Industry. Beauty Therapy is a thriving industry today here in Port Vila, with many tourists visiting Vanuatu for the luxurious treatments that are offered. After their visit to Lotus Day Spa many of the Youth were excited and eager to learn more. Leinase Simon, manager of the Wan Smolbag Theatre Youth Centre, hopes this will be the beginning of a new initiative for the young women of the Youth Center.

“This is a great chance for the girls to experience something new, the idea is for them to take away what they have learnt, and maybe even try a pedicure on other family members, we are very grateful for the chance Margie and Ashiana have given to the youth. I am very excited, this is the beginning for an important initiative for the future and development of the young women of Vanuatu. This will give the youth members an opportunity to realize that it is healthy to treat your body and take time to relax - whether it be a massage or just relaxing on the beach! Our girls are very enthusiastic about learning more about the Beauty Therapy Industry, there are many employment opportunities in this industry, hopefully with these visits to Lotus it will encourage some of our youth to find employment in the industry, this is very exciting for our girls.”

The visits to Lotus Day Spa are just a few workshops that are offered for the young women at the Youth Centre to encourage and provide support for our future young women of Vanuatu. These workshops include sexual health, personal development and employment and interview techniques. Wan Smolbag would like to thank Margie and Ashiana for making this possible!
