Great ANZ Duck Race against cancer on Saturday 17th October 2009

A special duck race is scheduled for Saturday 17 October 2009, to raise funds and support the cervical cancer campaign for all Ni-Vanuatu women. Pre-race activities will commence from 11am, at 1pm Celebrity Ride on Duck Race will take place, and the Great ANZ Duck Race starts at 2:00pm. Ducks will be racing in the first lagoon on the shores of Le Meridien Resort. They will have a surprise start followed by an exciting finish on the shores of the Le Meridien beach. These rubber ducks provide a colourful and fun focus for the event and have raised funds for many charities around the world. There is a week’s holiday accommodation package in a Brisbane riverfront unit for the person who sells or buys the most tickets or if that’s not able to be taken, a cash prize based on number of tickets sold eg up to 50,000 vatu. For schools and churches a cash donation based on number tickets sold is also offered.

The first 10 people who offer over 50,000 vatu donations – they are also eligible for the one weeks accommodation package in the Brisbane Riverfront 1 bedroom unit or a Vanuatu harbour front studio unit. Kiwanis will use funds generated by the adopting of ducks to support the cervical cancer campaign for all Ni-Vanuatu women.
