Discovery Tours visits VTO

Discovery Tours, a locally Ni-Vanuatu owned and managed tour and transfer company, visited the VTO on Wednesday this week  to present their products. The company was represented by 3 staff members Thomas, Ken, and the owner’s son. Discovery Tours has been operating for 2 years and is a current member of the VTOA, offering half and full day tours. The main highlight is the authentic Small Nambas Tribe Tour, which runs from Monday to Saturday, in the mornings (8am-11am), and afternoons (2pm-4.30pm). In Thomas’ word, “The small nambas dance is as real as you can ever get to a pure cultural dance of Malekula, here in Port Vila.” Ken followed on by stating, “Beside the tour, our dancers also dance and escort government heads up to the stage for special speeches, or at a launch event, and we also dance at the Le Lagon resort functions.” The Small Nambas Tribe tour begins with a drive around Port Vila’s historical sites, then guests are led onto a dug-out outrigger canoe for a quick 2minutes paddle across to the other side of the lagoon from Le Lagon beach, and onto Erakor bay,  where guests are welcomed by the sounding of tam tams and a delicious welcome drink before witnessing an authentic tribal dance from the Small Nambas community. Many guests have provided great feedback on this tour.

Another product of Discovery Tours is the Eton Beach Tour for a lazy and relaxing half day where guests can indulge on a delicious lunch BBQ and salads, and experience the beauty of Eton Beach, have a swim and snorkel, plus witness a coconut harvest demonstration.

The Efate Round island is a full day tour with five main stops. The first stop is at Eton for morning refreshment at the beach, then Epule village for a cultural dance performance,  then at Bamboo Beach restaurant for a buffet lunch, then at Tanoliu village’s WW2 relics road shop to revisit a significant piece of Vanuatu history, and finally at Gideon’s Landing on Havannah Bay, for afternoon tea and swimming before driving back to town. Discovery Tours also offers transfer services, on 12 and 6 seater vans (3), from airport to hotels and vice versa. The vans are modern fleets, comfortable, clean, and fully air conditioned.
