Origin Culinary Arts Show 2009

Press Release, Tuesday 27th October, 2009: Its on again, Vanuatu’s premier Hospitality event is being held at the Air Vanuatu Catering Centre overlooking the Harbor and adjacent to the National Parliament and Cultural Museum. The event is being held from the 10th-13 November with the Awards Dinner on the Saturday the 14th. This year’s competitions see the introduction of a bed making competition to go along with the prestigious Origin Intervenue Cup and the best of Vilas Chefs competing for the title of Chef of the Year. We are also welcoming teams from around the region for the Inaugural Pacific Countries challenge, the Pacific Oztralasia Cup 2009, a competition involving National teams from around the Pacific showcasing Vanuatu produce. This event is in its 6th consecutive year and involves over 150 chefs and tourism staff showing off their talents and the styles of food being prepared at local restaurants.

Combined with the VHRA Barista competition and the SKAL Cocktail Competitions this event is quickly becoming established on the Vanuatu Calendar.
International Competitors include from NZ, Cameron Lawless and Sarah Primrose, From Australia: Shane Keighley and Murray Reason. Both from the Wilson’s Boat House, Hamilton in Brisbane Queensland.
