| Diana Bangalulu – Coconut Palms Resort wins Barista Vanuatu 2010 competition |
Ms Diana Bangalulu is this years Barista Vanuatu champion winning an automatic entry into next year’s event. Ms Bangalulu was all smiles as she popped into the VTO for a photo shoot and a brief interview. The 29 year old waitress, who works at the Coconut Palms Resort, reported that this was the first time for her to compete in the Barista Vanuatu and she enjoyed the challenge she faced with over 30 other barista experts in the making. Her signature coffee had the judges jaws dropping in awe as they watched Diana prepare and serve her original ‘Vanilla latte cocktail’ which is a first in Barista Vanuatu, to enter a cleverly and deliciously put together latte cocktail, consisting of ice-cream, vanilla syrup, chocolate powder, milk and vanilla topping, decorated with pineapple. ‘The judges were surprised that I was able to transform coffee into a cold drink, cocktail style – they haven’t seen that before’, beamed Diana.
Diana won the first prize winner for Barista Vanuatu 2010 competition, proudly sponsored by Air Vanuatu, Chantilly’s on the Bay, Sunset Bungalows and members of VHRA. The prize includes return airfares plus 3 nights accommodation in Wellington New Zealand. Ms Bangalulu will be introduced to leading barista businesses and coffee distributors in New Zealand and many other wonderful promotional opportunities in the field of barista.
