Air Vanuatu launches new website

Media Release, 3rd February 2010: Air Vanuatu has announced their new cutting edge website has been launched at www.airvanuatu.com . The new website, managed by the same company who provides web services to other airlines including Jetstar, is a significant improvement on the previous site. “Our old website was tired and overdue for an update. We had received reports it was difficult to navigate and in many cases, impossible to book on,” Acting CEO Joseph Laloyer said. The new website is a significant investment for the airline, coming with a price tag of around $40,000. “The necessary expenditure will move Air Vanuatu forward, with a predicted increase in internet traffic, leading to more bookings on the World Wide Web,” Mr. Laloyer said. www.airvanuatu.com now makes it easier to book holidays to Vanuatu from anywhere in the world, with designated ‘home’ pages from wherever you are travelling from.

It also offers tourists the chance to book outer island holidays online for the first time. Information on cargo services, inflight entertainment, links to Vanuatu events and a flight status page, so family and friends can check arrival times are also new features.

“Whilst the new website is up and running, more features will be unveiled in the coming weeks and months, including an online accommodation booking tool.” Mr. Laloyer said the airline was very proud of the new website and encouraged locals to use it to book their domestic and international travel with Air Vanuatu.

“All our specials are loaded on to the website and its efficiency means queue times at travel agents and waiting on the phone may be a thing of the past.”
