Pascal Guillet, owner and manager of Vanuatu Ecotours had big smiles on Monday this week when he visited the VTO to make the announcement. Pascal and his team have put together a series of half marathon events which has cost up to several months of preparations and coordination. This week, a workshop was held at the Teachers College to prepare for ground handling and training for the races. The first run will kick off on Saturday 10th April, followed by another race on 8th May, then 12th June, and finally on Saturday 31st July. The half marathons are an open invitation to all interested teams, athletes, cross country enthusiasts, and generally anyone who loves to run long distance local and international. Distances covered range from 5km-10km, to 10km-21km across the entire series. The kids have a race organized on the 31st July, including a Fun Run for mums and dads. Packages tailored for international teams include return airfare ex Brisbane / Sydney / Melbourne or Auckland, airports transfers, accommodation, two dinners – pasta party on 30/07, island feast after the race on 31/07, entrance fees to the semi marathon (or the 10 kms), race shirt, photo taken at the finish line, a medal, and a half day tour of your choice – cycling, walking, river kayaking, buggy, waterfall, abseiling, parasailing, snorkelling and more.
