Preparations underway for Tok Tok Vanuatu 25th-27th August 2010

The first meeting for this years’ Tok Tok took place yesterday on Thursday 28th January 2010, at the Le Lagon Resort with representations from Air Vanuatu, Australia-Pacific Technical College, Espiritu Santo Tourism Association, Tok Tok Vanuatu host Le Lagon, ANZ Bank, Vanuatu Tour Operators Association (VTOA) and the VTO. Welcome remarks were made from the General Manager of VTO, Mrs Annie Niatu, followed by an opening prayer and reading of the agenda which commenced with the appointment of the new Tok Tok committee members. The newly elected chairman is Ali Serhan, who is General Manager of Le Lagon and Tok Tok 2010 host, supported by members who were present at the meeting.

It was agreed that Tok Tok this year will officially open in Espiritu Santo, including a half day meeting session for Espiritu Santo and the northern islands tourism operators of Ambae, Ambrym, Banks & Torres, Malekula and Pentecost.

Two days will be allocated for central and southern tourism operators which are tourist accommodations, tours and services in Port Vila, around Efate, Shefa province and the southern islands such as Tanna, Aniwa, Futuna, Erromango and Aneityum.

A proposed program was put together: Tuesday 24th of August - Opening cocktail Evening/ Wholesalers arrivals (Espiritu Santo), Wednesday 25th of August-Tok Tok Vanuatu (Espiritu Santo),  Thursday 26th of August-Tok Tok Vanuatu (Port Vila), Friday 27th of August-Tok Tok Vanuatu (Port Vila).
