Maskelyne Islands Tourism Association is proud to present Vanuatu's only multi day canoe tour. This unique tour island hops through the Maskelynes visiting 5 different islands.
Itinerary
Arrival Day (Thursday): Pick up from Lamap airport in the afternoon and travel by speed boat to Uleveo(Maskelyne) Island, enjoy a custom welcome, kava and dinner. Sleep in a bungalow in Pellognk village.
Day One: The tour begins, pack the canoes and head to the Ringi Te Suh Giant Clam garden, snorkel over colourful giant clams and remarkable history of this unique conservation area. Paddle over the channel to Sakao, garden island, swim at secluded beaches, walk in the gardens and jungle, camp on the beach at the mouth of 'mud crab creek'.
Day Two: Paddle to Bagetelle island, a tiny sandy beach and reef fringed island with historic ruins from French traders. Lunch at Ayom, a remote village, climb a rocky outcrop to get great views of the whole island group. Paddle to Vulai island to a secluded beach camp site.
Day Three: Wake up to watch the sunrise over the sugar lump reef plateau. Visit a turtle nesting beach protected by the chiefs. Swim in sheltered lagoons, snorkel over the pristine sugar lump reef, paddle back to Uleveo island (Maskelyne) to another secluded beach camp at Malaflaf point where a seafood feast awaits you.
Return to Lamap airport the following morning (Monday).
Prices
30,000 vt for a single, 20,000 vt per person for groups of 2 people or more.
Price includes: transfers from and to the airport, one nights accommodation in a bungalow, all meals (11 in total), guides, entry fees into customary lands and conservation areas, camping gear.
Note: Due to the flight schedules of Lamap airport, this tour is best done from Thursday afternoon through till Monday morning, or Monday morning through till Thursday afternoon. Flights from Port Vila land in Lamap on Monday mornings and Thursday afternoons.
