Located 30 minutes by boat from Espiritu Santo, Ratua Private Island has three villages offering 15 villa-style homes crafted from 200-year-old teak wood that accommodate two to four guests. The Yacht Club is a social hub offering a nautical activities centre, game room, media centre, sandy beach, chaises, and a bar, lounge and dining room.

In a world of consumption, economic upheaval and global warming, there is a way to live differently – out of time, out of consumption. It is the exclusive private island, Ratua.

This retreat within the Vanuatu archipelago has been kept secret until now. As Ratua opens for the enjoyment of others, the sexy and sometimes elusive idea of escaping to a secluded island for absolute relaxation and sensational ambience with one or 28 friends, is now a reality.

It is the perfect destination for an escape, honeymoon, wedding or corporate meeting. Rates include accommodation, meals, on island activities and airport transfers.

A service team greets guests at Espiritu Santo airport and guides them on a 30-minute motorboat journey commencing at the island’s Yacht Club. This social hub offers a nautical activities center, comfortable meeting place, sandy beach, chaise lounges, and a beautifully appointed bar, lounge and dining room. The Yacht Club is where fresh organic meals, fine wines and ever-lasting memories are shared.

While Ratua offers 146 acres to explore by electric buggy, bike, trek, horseback or boat – most of the amenities are centrally located just a short walk from the Yacht Club. Three villages offer 15 individual villa-style homes handcrafted from 200-year-old teak wood with Indo-Oceania inspiration. Each are uniquely furnished and accommodate two to four guests who can enjoy their own beach and perfect privacy.
The foundation of Ratua’s dining experience is the organic Kitchen Garden, where the culinary staff sources fresh, organic fruits and vegetables to supplement the unlimited fish supply from local anglers. A wine cave houses the best of Australia and New Zealand wines – not to mention Champagne and the exclusive French wine from the owner’s vineyard.

Ratua’s weather is nearly perfect as two much larger islands protect it. This makes easy exploration of surrounding lagoons, beaches, reefs – where sea tortoises, bright coral gardens and colorful fish abound. While exploring Ratua, guests will also find Manade Ranch where 20 horses roam freely with local chickens, pigs, goats and cows.

Beyond Ratua’s shores, guests can discover the infinite wealth of the area’s exceptional nature and unique local culture through a range of discovery tours – from active volcanoes, waterfalls and caves, to sailing, blue hole swimming and deep sea fishing.

While service is cheerful, Ratua offers an exclusive, refined French “art of living” influence. On the island, guests are without constraint, like at home, but far from home – with three staff for each guest. It is a perfect place of self-realization.
Just because Ratua is remote and secluded, it doesn’t mean guests will be disconnected. The Game Room and Media Center offer computers with wireless Internet access and a GSM network covers the entire island.

Ratua’s owner has taken a different direction -- his motivation to share this paradise is to contribute 100 percent of profits to help surrounding communities through the Ratua Foundation www.ratuafoundation.com.

Guests can choose to enjoy Ratua however they like and the price is inclusive for everything on the island.
